Partnership Achievements

Results of the PE, SPORT AND CLUB LINKS SURVEY (PESSCL) 2007 - 2008

Every school in the partnership completed a survey about how much time per week each pupil spent on high quality PE and school sport.

The national figure shows that 90% of pupils spend at least 2 hours in a typical week on high quality PE.  Our Partnership has exceeded the 2008 public service agreement target by 5%. 

This means that the Breckland School Sport Partnership has 99% of pupils spending at least 2 hours in a typical week on high quality PE and school sport. We are the second highest achieving Partnership in the Country. This is fantastic news and I want to thank you - and everyone involved within your school who have achieved this fantastic result. Can we make it 100% next year?

Celebrating success within the partnership

• 99% all pupils participate in at least 2 hours of PE per week.    
• In 2007/8 the Partnership ran 17 different festivals - Attleborough 7, Wayland 8, Thetford 2 festivals.
• Ashill & Carbrooke - Tag Rugby Finals
• Redcastle Furze - Indoor Athletics
• Attleborough Junior - Kwik Cricket 
• 10% of young people took part in volunteering and leadership 51 students from Yr 10 - 13 took part in a step into sport conference
• Junior Football Organisers course was run at Attleborough, Charles Burrell, Rosemary Musker and Wayland High Schools.
• MEND project (Mind, Exercise, Nutrition, Do it).  Ran 3 programmes last year.
• Gifted & Talented Academies - ran at Wayland, Charles Burrell and Rosemary Musker High School for Year 5, 6 and 7 pupils.  These pupils were identified by their schools and sessions ran once a month at their cluster high school.
• Royal Norfolk Show - Wayland High School & Gt Hockham Primary School represented the Partnership in showcasing X biking, Orienteering, Street Dance and Cheerleading.
