GIRLS FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT EVENT Y5/6
On Wed 17th January, Breckland SSP hosted the above event at Thetford Academy. The aim was to introduce Y5/6 girls who had little or no experience of playing football to the game and to engage them through a new set of resources.
Participants were shown some traditional football exercises commonly used at local ladies clubs and also new pay through story telling inititative introduced by FA in collaboration with Disney. This programme is called 'Shooting Stars' and encoruages the group to follow a theme, playing out a story, in this case Incredibles 2 whilst trying out some relatable football skills.
Thank you to the brilliant Y9 girls from Thetford Academy who were challenged to deliver the event and who were great at telling the stories as well as sharing some of their footy skills.
Congrats to all the girls from Mundford, Gooderstone and Watton Junior who took part and left with a smile on their faces.
