Yr1/2 & Yr3/4 Thetford Keysteps Gymnastics
On 3rd March Breckland Leisure Centre played host to the Thetford Cluster Keysteps Gymnastics Festival for Years 1/2 & Years 3/4. The event was very well supported by the cluster with 26 teams signing up for it . . a record breaking number for a Breckland Competition and a massive increase in the number of teams from the two that entered last year!!
The festival was delivered and judged by Sports Leaders from Rosemary Musker High School who had recently undertaken their Into Judging Gymnastics Course with Sarah Parker, Norfolk Gymnastics Development Officer.
Throughout the day the teams rotated around three keysteps activities - body management, floor exercise and the vault. For many of the participants it was the first time they had been off the school site for a sports event . . they were all very excited!
The children's scores from each activity were added together to make the winning teams per age group.
After a fun filled day Brecky Bear, the Partnership Mascot, was on hand to award Norwich Road Team 1, Year 1/2 winner and Redcastle Team 2, Year 3/4 winner - both will go on to represent Thetford at the Partnership final in May.
Well done to everyone involved and thank you for making the day such a success!!
