KS 2 PUPILS GLIDE THROUGH SWIMMING GALA

On Wednesday 22nd Janaury, Y4/5/6 swimmers from across Breckland competed in a gala at Breckland Leisure Centre.

Over 140 pupils took part in a number of races, including; frontcrawl, backcrawl, breaststroke and butterfly. There was also time for some 4x4 freestyle relays.

It is an Ofsted requirement that schools use sports premium spend on developing swimming competencies across all age groups. The target being that all pupils leave school being able to swim 25metres.

During the gala we witnessed some fantastic performances. The noise created by supporting team work really encouraged those in the pool to acheive some great times.

Although races were timed, the objective of the gala was for pupils to experience the nature of competition for the first time.

Well done to eveyone who took part and keep up the training!

The following schools were involved: Attleborough Primary, Bishops, Wayland JA, Riddlesworth Hall, Duchy of Lancaster, Norman Primary, Edmund De Moundeford
