GIRLS FOOTBALL KICKS OFF IN STYLE

On Wednesday 25th September, Breckland Ssp hosted the first event of The 2019/20 Winter School Games with a Girls Football event.

The event welcomed teams from all schools across Breckland to take part in a 5-A-Side event for Y3-4 and Y5-6 pupils.

A record 128 players arrived at Breckland Leisure Centre in overcast and wet conditions, but this did not affect the enjoyment of the day.

In a fast and furious succession of matches, schools competed in round robin groups to determine final standings and who would qualify for the School Games Finals to be held at 'Goals' in Norwich in February.

There was plenty of action to admire with brave goalkeeping, determined tackling, slick passing and clinical finishing infront of goal.

Congratulations to all who took part. We really hope you enjoyed the experience and will continue to play football both at school and any of the local football clubs.
