Y1/2 PUPILS ENJOY KEY STEPS GYM EVENT

On Tuesday 15th January, Breckland Ssp hosted a Key Steps Gymnastics event at Iceni Academy for Y1/2 pupils.

The event was superbly managed by Samantha, Gym & Dance Instructor from WildCats Gym in Thetford.

Schools were invited regardless of previous experience of gymnastics. The purpose of the event was to demonstrate and practise some basic floor moves with a focus on balance. Participants would also balance on a bench, practise jumping and perform a group floor routine as taught by Samantha on the day.

For over 3 hours the children enjoyed a fantastic morning of controlled activities and after plenty of practise were judged on there group routine and bench walk.

Although all pupils performed brilliantly, it was Riddlesworth Prep and Methwold Primary who managed to qualify for the School Games Finals in february.
