Dance Workshop a success!!
Wayland High School hosted the Breckland SSP Cultural Dance CPD workshop on Monday night.
The evening was well attended with 13 head teachers, support staff and PLTs all coming together to learn how to research, plan and structure a dance based around one of the Olympic Countries
Dancers from Star Dance who attend Wayland high school were on hand to put theory into action and performed a variety of dances from around the world, this made a huge difference and left us all feeling inspired and wishing we could dance like them!
Emily Harper the Teacher Release and owner of Star Dance delivered the workshop and gave us all loads of hints and tips on how to get started with our dance and what we could do with the choreography.
But more importantly Emily baked some homemade cakes which went down very very well!!
At the end of the evening the schools lucky dipped their country which they will perform a dance for at the Breckland Opening Ceremony on the 25th June 2012 which is going to be a massive celebration of cultural dance, music, art and food.
I am pleased to say we now have a record breaking 29 schools registered for the Opening Ceremony!!!!
Our next FREE CPD workshop is Tag Rugby on the 29th November at Hockwold and Methwold Community School 4-6pm
