School Games Tag Rugby Results

Watton Rugby Club played host to the Yr4/5/6 small schools and Y5/6 normal schools Tag Rugby event on the 12th March 2012.

Ten teams from across the partnership were competing for a space at the Norfolk School Games on the 18th June at the UEA.

The day was a great success and was delivered by Gold and Silver ambassadors from Wayland Academy. They put what they had learnt at the Breckland Leadership Academy into action by acting as team managers, officials, coaches and time keepers.

In the morning the small schools played a round robin of matches to determine who would take the slot at the School Games.

In the afternoon the top two teams from each pool were entered into a big Cup competition and the bottom teams went on to play for the Plate.

To make sure everyone was always active we also added a Bar Bar's and The Lions teams which enabled any player from any team to play for them..which everyone seemed to enjoy!

At the end of the day we awarded a PRIDE award trophy to the player who showed great sportsmanship and one or more of the Olympic vaules. This award was nominated by the Referees and went to Gabby from Bishops School.

A massive thank you must go to Watton Rugby Club who proved the venue for free and hot drinks all day!!
