Wayland High School played host to the Breckland SSP School Games U14 Table Tennis Qualifier on Monday 5th Dec 2011.
The event was well attended with players being entered from Hockwold and Methwold Community School, Wayland and The Thetford Academy.
This is the third time the event has run in Breckland and is the first time we had more girls attend than boys!!
The players all took part in a round robin competition enabling the girls to play each other and all the boys to play each other in a separate competition.
They were all battling it out for the top four places as it was these players who would qualify for the Breckland Team and go on to play at the Norfolk School Games in June 2012.
After a hard fought competition the teams were able to let their hair down by playing a couple of games of King of the table which went down very well!!
I would like to say a massive well done to everyone who took part and to the students who have qualified for the Breckland SSP U14 Table Tennis team.
The Breckland SSP team will now have access to further coaching prior to the event in the summer to perfect their skills!
The next high school event is the Yr7 and 8 Sportshall Athletics at Wayland in January 2012.
